On Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of compering the UK’s first Foreign Direct Investment Awards. Hundreds of investors, advisers and internationally-minded citizens joined us in London, while keynote speaker Michael Charlton, CIO at the Department for International Trade, told the audience that the next fiscal year is set to be another good one for FDI into the UK. The awards sought to shed light on both the smaller and medium sized FDI projects that had a large relative impact on jobs and growth.

FDI Deal of the Year went to Hong Kong private equity real estate firm Gaw Capital for its contribution to UK regeneration covering residential development, commercial offices, retail malls, serviced apartments, hotels, and logistics, and in particular, their commitment to transforming 123 & 151 Buckingham Palace Road.

Congratulations to the first FDI Award winners
